Seeking PhD students with an interest in the development of novel computational methods for applications in solid and structural mechanics

Our research group is actively seeking PhD students to conduct research in the development of novel computational methods for applications in nonlinear structural and solid mechanics. If you or someone you know is interested in this opportunity, please reach out to brian.giffin@okstate.edu for additional information.

Desired qualifications

  • Relevant coursework in applied mathematics, mechanics, and computational (finite element) methods
  • Programming experience (C/C++, Matlab, Python)
  • Demonstrated research or professional experience involving the development or use of novel finite element methods

Submitted applications should include: a detailed CV; a research/writing sample (preferrably a pee-reviewed journal article or report for which you are the primary author); a brief statement of purpose describing your academic and professional background, your interest in the field of computational mechanics, and your academic/career goals.

Applications will be accepted until March 1st, 2025.
